Dreams and Pursuit

Dreams, dreams and dreams. Everything has a start and also an end but a dream lacks one, the end. Our dreams can never end, but it will if one chooses to. People pursue their dreams endlessly while the dreams elaborate themselves, and that is why dreams will not end. In this process there is the dreaming and the pursuing, where the hard part is the pursuing. Pursuing our dreams require courage, perseverance, willpower as well as confidence. Courage to start and bring ourselves to the challenge; Perseverance to carry on and endure hardships; Willpower to drive our conviction and achieve our wants; Confidence to assure our mind and let us march forth with chests puffed out! Walt. Disney had said, "All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them" If we do not chase for it who will, because opportunities do not come, opportunities welcome.

Everyone desires for something, that is why they chase and pursue, that is also why they dream. Again I'm going to tell a story from One Piece about a man, or you could say a fishman. His name is Tom, a shipwright who pursued his dream with confidence and courage. He is a man who will stand by his beliefs and protect his dreams. The story started when he thought of building a train, not just an ordinary train, a sea train that can travel on the seas. This was to help his town's economics by advancing their trading business. Although half way through something happened to him, the government officials came and charged him of a heavy crime. The building of the ship, Jolly Roger, the pirate king's ship. He went and pleaded for an extension of his execution to after he had finished building his train instead of giving up. His willpower prolonged his life and helped to complete his dream. After a few years his dream has finally came true and the sea train came into existence. That was also the day he was about to lose his life for his execution takes place. He went to court and met the judges. The situation is grim and filled with tension. People around him did not wish for his death as well for his creation prospered the island and benefited the world. The judges then uttered something after a moment of silence," Tom, charged guilty of creating the pirate's king ship Jolly Roger but then spared as he had helped the island's economy and benefited the world and deemed sinless" The crowd jumped with joy after hearing that and tears of joys started to well up in Tom's eyes. Here, his perseverance bore the fruits of his efforts and gave him joy. Just when things starts to turn better, his disciple was now charged for making ships with weapons of destruction, although they are not meant for harm an accident happened and the ships had started to attack the officials at bay. Tom then said,"If what I had done today was to forgive my crime ten years ago, can I use it t forgive my disciple's instead?" His disciple started crying and denying the request of his beloved master but nothing can be done. Then the disciple started saying,"No ship that does... stuff like that... IS ANY SHIP OF MINE!!!" but his master hit is disciple for the very first time shouting, ""Not your ship," Franky?!!". Then Franky the disciple shouted back in retort saying, "What's wrong with saying that?!! I regret them, now!!! If I hadn't made those ships, nobody would have gotten hurt!!!". His master then said,"No matter what kind... of ship you choose to create, there lies no "good" or "evil" in it...!! I don't care what you want to make in the future!! ... But, no matter who the ship you made hurts!! No matter how much ruin it brings to the world...!!! The father of that ship must love it as no one else does!!! The father of that ship must not deny it is his!!! Don't blame the ship!! A MAN MUST BE PROUD OF THE SHIPS HE BUILDS!!!!" Tom then protected his disciple and was shot down by one of the marines around and lost his life and he had also protected something precious, the value of an ever growing dream his disciple had that he is trying to pursue. Tom had then pursued his dream with courage and made it happen and had protected other's dreams and desires. This shows that it can be done, a dream can be made true if one pursues and protect their beliefs.

planning Sundays, planning Dreams

Yes, I have nothing against slacking on Sundays after all that's what Sundays are for but the cruel reality is that after Sundays it's Mondays. Therefore we need to do something that won't take time off our resting schedule and in the same time help us prepare for the week. That is to dream and plan. Dreaming is of course a great form of planning, because it doesn't throw off your schedule at all and it doesn't tire you out even the slightest bit too. Dreaming can give us infinite possibilities and scenarios, and scenarios can help us prepare what happens later on. Dreams are what the creative side of our brain creates. It is the ultimate gift that can open our eyes at horizons fused with logic and creativity. This is something that we cannot deduce just based on logic. Dreams need imagination and logical assumptions in order to twist reality into another dimension whereby things that are out-of-the-box are actually the truth. What I mean is that just by logical assumptions and examples of reality we cannot deduce the future as life is full of surprises. So dream as we plan, for while we plan, these dreams will contribute to our excitement and our plans for the future. Gloria Steinem is indeed correct when saying that "Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming after all is a form of planning". Here's another story that would show us how dreaming is planning from One Piece as well. This time it features a girl named Robin. The story starts of in an island where the history of the world is their treasure as well as their main interest. This country that was flowing with knowledge found out a dark secret of the world. The secret is that the marines and the world government was actually having a hard time fighting their country before as their country at that time was the country that had the most power until the time when the marines took everything away from them. So the marines after knowing that their secret was known they came forth to this country and commenced an operation that allows the complete destruction of an island. Robin was the daughter of the person who found out the truth and that was her mother. Her mother was then executed by the marines and her island, her home was destroyed by the unjust of the marines. But at that time there was a giant who was her mother's friend tried to help her escape and told her that,"No one in this world is destined to be alone" but in the midst of running away a marine admiral came and killed the giant but letting the girl escape. It was then when the giant was dying told her that, "Don't cry, laugh, laugh whenever you want to cry" and then the girl ran away but before she went up the boat she cried tears of sorrow while leaning on the giants body refusing to go until the admiral told her that, "Don't let the sacrifice of this giant be in vain, escape and tell the world that this country was once a  legend!" So she ran away from the island with a bounty on her head. Robin was a child at that time and everywhere she went she was betrayed and was always on the run. A lot of pain was inflicted at her constantly but she still lived on because she had a dream that is to have real friends and that was her plan to live. Although reality kept on proving to her that that was impossible, she persevered with her plan, her dream. Until one day when she couldn't take it any more, Luffy came and recruited her into his crew. That was when she found out that if she never had a dream as her plan, there will never be this day. So please plan with a dream as the basis.

Calculating Dreams

Well today after my Maths Olympiad training, I though of something, can dreams be calculated? Yes, they can, in fact they always do. This quote by Roald Dahl is indeed true, "Dreams don't work, unless you do."  If a person work hard for his dream and pursue it, then and only then it will happen. Dreams do come true when one person pay for it. Its just like another maths equation, work=dream. If you dream big and you give big your dream will come true, but if you dream big and you give small, your dream will not come out true, even if it did, it will not be how you wanted it to be like. No matter how you twist the truth or how you cheated, the ratios between a dream coming true and the amount of work you do is and always will be the same. So even if you cheat, you won't get what you truly want in the end. People often say that if they cheat, they will work less and still get the same result as those that work hard, that's where they're wrong. People who work hard will get something else other than the result, they will obtain passion, feelings, experience and other things that fulfill a dream. Even if the odds are against you, one way or another you will succeed. So please don't give up and work hard. Now there is a story about a young girl that I would like to share, this story is also from One Piece. A story about a girl named Nami. She lived in a village where everyone cared for each other and all of them cherish their peace and their village. Nami and her sister  actually was not from the village itself, they were picked up from another country that was in chaos and in  ruins. At that time Nami was only a baby so she didn't know what happened, only her sister knew. During that time, their mother who was actually a marine was on that battlefield with her meaning of life lost. She wanted to die until she saw Nami's smiling face, at that moment she realised that, she could not enjoy things if she had not lived. So she brought Nami and the child carrying her. Nami, the other child and the mother were all complete strangers but they formed a family all together and went back to the village, the mother's hometown. At there they formed strong tie, but one day pirates came and killed the mother leaving Nami and her sister behind. Nami was furious and completely saddened, but she had a dream, a dream about restoring the village to its peaceful and love brimming form. So she became an underling to the pirates and made a promise with them. An impossible promise giving them 100 million dollars to release the village out of their control. The pirates accepted it, but after 8 years, with 93 million dollars collected the marines under the bribery of the pirates came and took her money under charge of thieving. Although, she only stole from other pirates and under orders of the pirates controlling her village. She was very angry but sad after all those hard work he had done, it was all lost, she knew that it was all the pirates' doings, for the pirates bribed the marines to come and take away her money as the pirates never intended to let go of her and the village. She crumbled down but fate seemed to be on her side, the pirates that she stole from last time came to save her as well as the village. It was also the only crew of pirates that she was sad when she betrayed them. They are the straw hat pirates, in here the captain is Luffy( the man I mentioned in my first post)and the cook is  Sanji (the one on the second post). They fought hard for her and saved her village. So you see, even if hope seems lost and everything was taken from you don't fret, because you given your best and the best will be your reward. Always remember that work hard and what you get will be equivalent to what you worked for. So fight on and don't give up or worry as long as you dreamed and fought for it with all your might.

Good Friday, A waking Dream

Today's Good Friday, a day where Christians rejoice over the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. Although I am not a Christian but I still admire Jesus's perseverance and his ever lasting hope. Having hope can mean a lot of things. Hope can be a pain-killer for despair, hope can be a shining light to an endless abyss, hope can be a rope stretched into the deserted well. Lastly hope can be a new start, a waking dream. yes we dream to have a start, we dream to awaken our thoughts and we dream to open our eyes. Hope is a gift to us, a gift that we must cherish for it lets us dream about a better condition and soon enough it might awaken the dream of us being treated better. No matter how dire the state seems like never give up dreaming a better state, never give up. Even though it seems like there are no longer anything left for you to salvage, never give up hoping, never give up dreaming. In One Piece, a manga drawn by Oda Eiichiro, features a little child who was a cook got stranded in an island with only a small stack of food given by another old man that got stranded with him. The old man had a bag of stuff three times bigger than that of the bag that he had given to the little kid called Sanji. Sanji was furious at how the difference in provisions were being given out, as there are no other way of obtaining food on this island and the only food left was in the bag. Sanji fought for 50 days, with a very little amount of food that was only worth a weeks. Then he went to the other side of the island to find the old man as he could not take it anymore. He then saw that the huge bag was still there so he went and open the bag but then he realized that inside were only treasures, treasures that could not feed a human at all. In this period of 50 days he realised that the old man was not given any provisions. Sanji then realized that the old man had given all the food to him, himself living with food and water from the puddles was even better off than the old man. Then he saw that the old man actually cut off one of his legs in order to make it food for him to survive. Sanji cried and asked the old man  why did he try to save him, and the old man said, "because you and I, share the same dream" Their dream was to find an ocean called All blue, an ocean where it contains all the fishes in the world, a paradise for cooks, but it was laughed upon as it was thought to be a rumor only, but they still chased the dream,  chased the rumor. With that dream they survived for another 35 days together without food with that dream. So please dream and hope for the best, dream no mater how unreal or joked upon the dream is, chase it and you will soar.

my First Post, my First Dream

We often worry and we are scared before we try but always remember take the first step. A step that will not take away anything from you not money, not happiness, not peace and not even the simplest things you have in life. The step is to dream. Carl Sandburg had this fantastic quote Nothing Happens Unless First We Dream, yes he is right. Everything do start from a dream, an ambition it is not about the possibility on whether you can do it but whether you have the conviction to do it and believe in it. I was inspired not only by this quote but also on a manga(Japanese style comics), called One Piece. It started of with one teenager who wanted to become a pirate king, an unrealistic objective, but despite what everyone told him about how impossible it is, he still tried. Now he has a high bounty and still have fun adventures and great crew mates! He even told a cowardly friend of his who was scared of going against a pirate that he feared to fight for his own dream and escape from the pirates wrath. That kid's name was Coby, a cowardly crybaby who wanted to obtain the highest post in the marines, admiral. Now Coby morphed into a strong person that would even go and help against his friend who advised him and go against the admiral telling him that killing people randomly is wrong. Therefore, start with a dream, just a dream no matter how big how small and hold to it. Trust me one day it will come true.
